Commercializing green hydrogen technologies for the decarbonization of hard-to-abate industries.
Sunfire has developed and commercialized electrolysis technologies to produce green hydrogen from water and renewable electricity. Sunfire has two product lines that are based on different cell architectures: the company’s commercial-stage alkaline electrolysis (“AEL”) product is more suitable in use cases where renewable energy prices are low, while the company’s development-stage solid oxide electrolysis cell (“SOEC”) product is more suitable in use cases where renewable energy prices are more expensive. Sunfire operates as an original equipment manufacturer (“OEM”) of AEL and SOEC electrolyzers and sells equipment to customers that are developing green hydrogen projects. Green hydrogen is expected to play a key role as a low carbon fuel alternative for the decarbonization of “hard-to-abate” sectors such as heavy-duty transportation, industrial processes, and energy storage.
